“My FORD: 1970 429 Torino Cobra GT Fastback. The 429 J-Code has a factory rating of 370 horsepower. In actuality a 429 J-code engine produced over 500 horsepower. The 429 J-code came equipped with and Ram Air and a 4 bbl Holley carburetor, with 370hp@5400 RPM, and 450 ft-Lbs of Torque@3400 RPM, 11.3:1 Comp Ratio, with a 4 bolt main block also with a forged steel crankshaft. The horsepower was extremely underrated. to keep the governing companies happy.”
