As for the car, there were some off the wall concept designs back in the 50's and 60's. Very cool

i was actually reaserching this car earlier this summer, it turns out actually that the turbine system was rather more fuel-efficient when compared to the other cars on the road at the time. what doomed the concept was the added safety training and preventative-maintenence that would have affected projected sales.
