The greatest car ever. Driving cars isn't always about blasting down the road in a straight line. MX-5's handle like they are on race tracks. Anyone like go-karts, here is you grown up street legal version

Miata's are like go-karts. And as much as I would never own one, they are fun to drive. But you can hardly call it a Miata when there's a V8 jammed under the hood like in some of these pics

Miatas almost have a split personality. The 'street' perception is that of a gay dude/hairdresser's car, whereas as true car enthusiasts appreciate them for what they are – fantastic handling little track cars.

For all of the dopes with their 'cool guy' 'new' muscle cars – go to any road course this weekend. Look at what you see the most of – I'll give you a hint – Mazda Miata MX-5s. They are great track cars – cheap, easy to fix/easy to replace and great performers. What you WON'T see are new Camaros and Chargers.

Many of us learned to track on a Miata.

That said, some of these cars are stupid, like the dope with the lowered stance/crazy camber hardparker one, but many of the proper race prepped ones are quite nice!

It would have been really nice to see one with a Rotary Engine.

Few years ago, Corksport in Washington state had a dyno day for their customers (Mazda specialists). High horsepower car of the day was a second gen Mazdaspeed Miata at 400RWHP…..with the stock motor (albeit the motor was built but still).

I'm gonna agree with the last pic, every guy that i know who hasn't driven a miata says they're for weenies…everybody that i know who HAS driven a miata gives them a TON of respect!! They' aren't fast, nothing crazy about them, they're just a blast to drive!!!

when you have lanes inside your own lane on the freeway, in traffic and/or hills/mountains, every road is a track!!
