Harley Davidson swept away by Japan tsunami surfaces in Canada. The owner of the motorbike was easily found while the license plates were still there.

How have you not heard of this?

The bike and other things were swept out to sea in a moving truck and box separated from the truck and drifted to Canada. It was found a by a guy and his friend who were beach combing a secluded beach on their ATVs. H-D got wind of the story and helped to locate the man in Japan using the plates and are going to rebuild his bike and give it back to him.

The Throttle should've given more of the story and the even the video of the interview between the owner and the finder.

A metal bike chassis won't float but when attached to a fuel tank full of petrol(which is neutrally buoyant) it is well nigh impossible to sink. It was this that kept her afloat!
