I just found the source of the same plorbem. I tried re-charging at the end of last summer which is the answer most people give in these forums. Didn’t make a difference. So, I found a place that specializes in air for Jeeps (JeepAir.com) and asked them. They said that at between 90,000 and 100,000 miles the Liberty’s clutch for the compressor goes out. Had my mechanic test it and sure enough, need a new clutch.I’ve only found two places I can get a clutch alone without replacing the entire compressor (without dealing with the dealer). moparpartsamerica.com has the best price. If you replace the entire compressor of course, you have to recharge and that just adds more cost. The one other thing we tested (hoping it was the answer) was the relay for the compressor which I’ve heard a few people have had corrode and stop working.
