If this in fact is just one engine, it needs a lot more than a tuneup, i'm not a mechanic, but wow it needs a lot of work
you surely aren't a mechanic if you can't tell the difference between i6 and v6
haters gotta hate, Dick
cmon stan, don't be angry:)
I lol'd
You must be new here, if it was a one time occurrence i might be inclined to agree with you…
you mad bro?
gotta love the 15k miles oil change intervals on bmw motors
number 19 and 42 definetly dont need tune ups but the rest is what mechanics see couple times a year and it makes us laugh
oil? whats that?
i couldn't imagine having to clean up an engine like that, i think at that point you just take it outside and pressure wash the hell out of it
Solvent tank for days.
Hot tank
lol. looks like a bunch of chrysler 2.7's….
A few are of the Audi 1.8T engine. When I pulled the valve cover on my Passat, there was more coke in there than a mid 80's Wall Street stockbroker– still not as bad as these photos, though. I figured the original owner changed the oil often enough but didn't use the right viscosity. Had I but known that the 1.8T engines are notorious for sludge build-up, I would have thought twice about buying it super cheap at auction. Changed out the oil pickup and cleaned the pan and head. Auto-RX seems to work well, but you have to catch this before the engine suffers from oil starvation. Oh, well, I'm still more-or-less ahead and it gets good mileage.
At my work we had a girl come in to buy a 4 litre oil pack, no probs, then she came and got another one, then another, by this time she had my attention… I went out to the front, and she had filled the WHOLE block up to the top of the filler cap….
I suggested she may want to check the dipstick first, it was pouring out of that…
She thought I was calling her names. So I left her to it, and then she came back in to get help, as it wouldn't start…
We had to empty the drain tray over the pit so much came out of it..
I had a lady come in and buy 4 quarts, 2 times in a row. Stepped outside for a smoke, and she had oil draining out of the oil pan seal faster than she could put it in. Then she started it up, and drove it home. I said "good luck"
Damn…those are NASTY!!!
