#7 In the old days Diesels were known to be slow compared to gas powered vehicles. Today that's not the case astronomical horsepower can be achieved with the right turbos and the are very quick in drags and Audi uses diesels in 24 hours of Lemans and win so they are also fast. Amazing

3,7L 8cyl.TT diesel vs 2L 6 cyl. single turbo petrol engine or 3,4L 8cyl. NA, different fuel tank capacity, different refueling regulations and so on

And diesels lagged behind gasoline engines as far as being used in racing applications until quite recently.
