If you are fan of car blogs, and I assume you are, then I'm sure you have seen the promo shots of the newly announced Ferrari FF. The FF is the first Ferrari to have four wheel drive and a sophisticated torque distribution system that automatically adjusts torque, real time, according to current road conditions. Pretty slick.
The shooting-break design is also a departure for Ferrari and I would argue a pretty intelligent way to carry 4 people in style. With three doors, ingress and egress are at least tolerable and especially nice when packing for a weekend trip to the mountains (as I'm sure most of the buyers are accustomed).
The real fun is when you get to the powerplant. This oversized hatchback sports a naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter V12 engine with 651hp and 504 lb-ft of torque. You would need that kind of oomph I guess in order to move the almost 4,000 lb FF around the track with any quickness. Should be about 3.8 seconds to 60, which is nice.
The beautifully sculpted design looks amazing to my eye, but I have always been a sucker for a hatchback. I can tell you the view looks considerably better than the old four seat tourer, the 612 Scaglietti that the FF replaces.
