BMW comes back with the 1 Series M Coupe, obviously serious (31 Photos)

Ok ok, so earlier I had a little bit of a spat with BMW about their 1 series. The undersized coupe just didn't have enough chutzpah to deem it a worthy consideration. Having a 36k+ price tag wasn't any help either.

Well, I may have changed my mind about the littlest bimmer. BMW just released official specs on the BMW 1 Series M Coupe and it seems they got the memo. The M Coupe now is sporting 335 hp and 332 pound-feet of torque which, although not a monumental boost from the 1 Series' previous max of 300 hp and 300 lb-ft, is a welcome addition. There is an overboost function that during hard runs will provide an additional 37 pound-feet when called on, so that's nice.

I can't wait to give y'all a full review. Now if only BMW would return my calls...

Undersized? Nope. You could easily make a family car out of that lump with the same length, width and height without making it into a van. And lighter. But still safe, mind you.

Agreed. The biggest downside is the 3900 lb. curb weight…I expect nothing less from BMW though. They have always been the best tank builder in Europe…

meh, for the money u gonna pour on this little bugger, u could get a really nice 2011 mustang GT. and it WILL be awesome!

so im guessing it’s rlleay fun to drive this car. you know i thought the same thing once i saw highlights of it online. im considering getting either this car, the 335i coupe or the mitsubishi lancer evo x gsr. now ive driven the evo and for everyday driving (which is the type of car i need) its a bit on the rough side in terms of suspension. how would u rate this car’s everyday ride experience? and, the only reason that im considering the evo over the x rite now, is because of the extra room.
