Porsche has offered many factory installed options over the years but the most unique might just be the Porsche 930 "Flachbau." In German "flachbau" means "slant nose" which was a styling cue introduced with the Porsche 935, the factory racing version of the 911 turbo back in 1976. Through Porsche's "Sonderwunschprogramm" or "special order" program, a standard Porsche 930 could fitted with the slant nose of the 935 for a premium over the regular price.

These special Porsches captured all of the car lust attention in my youth. There was something about the aggressive front end that made the Porsches look positively mean. The Porsche "slant nose" will always have a special spot in my dream garage.
