what's with all these modded Volkswagen Beetles on The Throttle?

QuattroDOOd shut the hell up. Almost every car on that list is brilliant in its own right, except maybe the Speedster. Calling a 911 a "modded Volkswagen Beetle" is like calling a Corvette ZR1 a "modded Chevrolet Aveo". Oh I got one for ya! It would be like calling an Audi R8 a "modded A3". That's just not the case.
