BMW has crafted an, ehem, "interesting" car in the 1 series. Did we need a smaller car than the 3 series? No. Did we want one? No. Did BMW make one? Yes. Although they look better in person, I can't decide if I hate it or I love it. Why don't you decide? Sound off in the comments below!

Depends on how they market it/ what they put under the hood. It's lighter but I have a feeling they'll want to keep the M3 as their flag ship "schnell" auto.

Yeah, BMW is definitely not going to outdo the M3 by giving the 1M more power. But th1M is going to be lighter, and its going to be a better drivers car. Its going to be more focused and driver oriented. Its gonna be pretty similar to how Porsche positions the Boxter/Cayman and the 911. The 911 is the flagship model, but every enthusiast knows the Boxter/Cayman are actually better drivers cars.

It would be cool, but the front is way too "cute" and looks like it's say "I'm so happy to be here". I wouldnt drive it. If they made the front end more aggressive it would be pretty sweet.

oh… and my 10 year old Audi A4 has a nicer looking interior than that. zzzz.

same powerplants as the 3 series, less car to lug around, better power:weight ratio, better performance for less money. it's the size the 3 used to be (hell, go look at an 80's 5 series, they weren't that big either!) and should still be. the just keep making everything bigger, then need a new small car.

The tuning potential of this car is immense….with it's light weight, balance, and trackability, this car will seriously blur the scenery once the aftermarket tuning pro's get a hold of it. I'm a fan.

love the car for the lines and the history of the 3 series, and this 1 is built incredibly well, but just doesn't make sense. It weights practically the same as the 3, would have been the only reason to make a 1. When they deliver the ///M, it will be magic all over again.

Its a nice car, but for some reason, im just not a fan. I think it would be better suited in europe where they have smaller cars and smaller roads. I think that most americans like larger cars, and this one just cant cut it.

all though your statement is just a "feel", I think the marketing for the 3 series as the performance flag ship is easier than the 1 series (b/c the American market does matter) / as in, bottom of the line, it's just too small

As the owner of a 2011 135i let me say, "Yes we did need it". The only 3 series that rides or handles as agressively is the M3. For $10000 less than a basic 335 I get all of the benefits and a 4.6 sec 0 to 60 (that is a real time, not a factory estimate). Did I also mention that is completely stock!

Cadi introduced night visoin in 2000 but used thermal imaging and it wasnt that good. Lexus introduced infrared night visoin was much better. Lexus technology is amazing. Lexus is known for technology and luxury since 1990.
