914-6 comes with a flat-6 cylinder porsche boxster engine. It is in no way a 'beetle'. it maybe uses the same window winders, but that is as far as it goes. Texjosh, you know nothing

Most who talk down any nice car have never had one and there prospects are grim. They Parrott what is said by other ill-informed persons and are struggling to keep their ford maverick on the road. I have liked the 914 from the beginning. and am very impressed with this one. Oh and have you noticed the come back in popularity of the 914 as the new super cars are becoming mid engine. Talk about ahead of it's time!

You can hate them until you drive a well prepared version. Then you realize what an amazing car it was and still is. The VW engined 1.7 and 1.8's are a bit anemic, but a well built 2.0 liter four, or the amazing flat six just brings the car to life. This one has it all. Fun to look at as well as I am sure… a blast to drive.

Haters can be Haters but this is a SICK car and would look great in my drive way and will be when I'm finished building mine might have to swap a STi engine with a 6spd though.
